Field pilots fail for structural reasons far more often than technical ones. Sites are not comparable, collection is inconsistent between crews, the comparison condition was never defined, or the documentation cannot support the conclusion the organization wanted to draw.
We help structure the pilot before it starts: what is being compared, at how many sites, over what period, measured how, recorded on what form, and reviewed by whom. The design work is deliberately conservative about what a given pilot can and cannot establish.

Clarify the question and the claim
We state precisely what the pilot is meant to establish and, just as importantly, what it will not be able to establish. This prevents a common outcome where months of fieldwork cannot answer the original question.
Design the comparison
Sites, periods, or methods are organized so results can be compared meaningfully, with attention to habitat differences, seasonal timing, and other factors that vary between locations.
Specify collection and equipment
Equipment, placement, timing, and handling procedures are documented so every crew collects the same way. Consistency matters more here than sophistication.
Build the documentation set
Field forms, data entry conventions, deviation logs, and review checkpoints are prepared before the first collection rather than assembled afterward.
Support execution
During the pilot we review incoming records for consistency problems, missing entries, and drift between crews while there is still time to correct them.
Summarize findings
A written summary presents what was observed, how it was collected, what limitations apply, and what the organization can reasonably conclude and do next.

01Do you provide laboratory testing or species identification?
No. We do not operate a laboratory and do not provide accredited laboratory testing. Where a pilot requires laboratory work or formal identification, the customer arranges it with an appropriate provider and we structure the workflow around it.
02Can you guarantee the pilot will show a benefit?
No, and a design that guaranteed a result would not be worth running. Our role is to make sure the pilot is structured so that whatever it shows is credible and documented.
03Do you run the fieldwork?
Field collection is performed by the customer or their contracted personnel. We design the workflow, prepare documentation, and review incoming records for consistency.
04Can you help publish the results?
We prepare a structured findings summary suitable for internal and program use. Peer-reviewed publication requires editorial and review processes handled by the research team.
